Accenture named to 2013 list of Canada‘s Top 100 Employers

TORONTO -- Accenture has been named to Canada‘s Top 100 Employers list, an annual competition to recognize Canada‘s best places to work. The publication of standings, now in its 13th year, appears in The Globe and Mail newspaper.

"Being recognized once again as an employer of choice for about 4,500 Canadians is very important because our business is our people - and we value them for their dedication to helping us and our clients achieve high performance," said Michael Denham, President and Managing Director at Accenture in Canada. "Our placement among Canada‘s Top 100 Employers showcases to our clients, employees and potential recruits that Accenture has family-friendly work policies and first-rate diversity programs."

Several of Accenture‘s leading initiatives have been listed in the detailed reasons for selection, published on the Canadian job search website, Eluta.ca. Accenture is ranked by DiversityInc as a Top 50 Company for Diversity.

Accenture provides a number of programs and initiatives for employees, including:

Corporate Citizenship: Accenture employees consistently rank the company‘s corporate citizenship initiatives as a major factor in their job satisfaction. Accenture recently awarded 12 grants totaling C$780,000 to help support Canadians seeking job skills to re-enter the workforce. In addition to the grants, Accenture employees volunteer and donate pro bono skills, reflecting the company‘s Skills to Succeed initiative to equip 250,000 people around the world by 2015 with the skills to get a job or build a business.

Training & Development: Accenture invested more than US$800 million globally for training and developing employees in the fiscal year ended August 31, 2011. MyLearning, Accenture‘s global online learning portal for employees, offers thousands of courses from core training to specialized functional and technical training. Many employees also attend professional courses at Accenture‘s specialized training facility in St. Charles, Illinois.

Inclusion & Diversity: Accenture in Canada‘s Inclusion & Diversity Program helps attract and retain a talented workforce by creating an inclusive working environment where individual differences are valued. Accenture holds diversity training sessions and builds community partnerships to foster diversity among many employee groups including women, LGBT, and people with disabilities.

Canada‘s Top 100 Employers are selected by an advisory board of people drawn from universities across Canada, each of whom have written or edited a major Canadian textbook on human resources. About 12,500 companies were invited to apply for the award.
